DIRECTION & BUILD PLAN

Know what to change before you pay to change it.

When the ideas are multiplying but the next decision is unclear, we help you identify the problem, choose a direction and define a useful first project.

Who it is for

You already have an offer or a business decision to work through. You may be considering a new website, a programme, a rebrand or a system, but you are not sure which changes are necessary or what should happen first. If you already have a clear, workable brief, you may not need this commission.

THE DELIVERABLES

What you keep

01

A clear diagnosis

A plain-language diagnosis of the agreed problem, the priority audience and the customer task for this initiative.

02

One customer journey

A map of the priority journey that needs to work, including the main obstacles and dependencies.

03

A practical recommendation

What to keep, change, buy or build. Existing tools and smaller changes are considered alongside custom work.

04

A defined first brief

A bounded next-project brief and the decisions still outstanding, followed by one consolidated revision.

The plan is useful on its own. You can take it to your team or another supplier. It does not include identity design, a working website, extensive market research or a production-ready technical system.

What happens

  1. 01

    Agree the decision

We review the relevant material you supply and agree the decision the work needs to resolve.

  2. 02

    Work through it together

Two 90-minute working sessions, with up to three stakeholders.

  3. 03

    Map the priority journey

We identify the main obstacles, dependencies and alternatives around one customer journey.

  4. 04

    Leave with a usable brief

You receive a written recommendation and defined next-project brief, followed by one consolidated revision.

No forced next package

There is no automatic build discount. If later work overlaps, we quote the genuinely remaining work rather than repeat it. A clear, workable brief can go straight to scoping a brand, website or creative commission.

Five questions before your next website project.

  1. 01

What should a customer be able to do?

  2. 02

What currently gets in their way?

  3. 03

What already works and should stay?

  4. 04

Who will supply the material and make decisions?

  5. 05

Who will run the result after launch?

Questions, answered.

Do I have to build with you afterwards?+

No. The written plan is yours to use.

Will you always recommend a custom platform?+

No. Existing software or a smaller change may be the more appropriate answer.

How long will it take?+

We agree the working sessions, material requirements and delivery date before you commit.

Does this include brand strategy?+

It includes the focused positioning and customer questions needed for the agreed decision. A full research or identity programme is separately scoped.

Is this technical feasibility?+

Not automatically. A complex system may need a separate, precisely scoped technical investigation. We avoid duplicating decisions already made.
